I started out life as a child. I was quite small and could not walk or talk, or even sit up or roll over. I quickly learned to do all those things and more.

My name is Michael Murphy.  Sixty-four years ago I came into this world. My father was a WWII vet and at the time of my birth was a professional photographer. My mother would be a stay at home mom until I grew up. Dad sold the studio and a return to the military as an officer in the Air Force kept us on the move, not going to the same school for the full school year until 7th grade. An avid reader, the moves forced me to adapt and make friends quickly. I wanted to fly for the military, however the timing was not right. Pilots were coming back from Vietnam and both the Air Force and Marines had too many already. My desire to be a pilot was fulfilled early in my adult life on my own at a small grass strip in central Kansas. Eventually I was able to have aviation related businesses, fly for corporations (including T.Boone Pickens) and ultimately as a captain with United Airlines. At United I served as an instructor for the B-747 and flew internationally in the 747, 757, 767 and 777. I also flew domestically in the 737, A319 and A320 and serving as a Line Check Airman in addition to flying regular line trips.

Currently married to my wife Janis for 35 years, we have 4 children and 14 grandchildren. Janis is an AEMT with the county EMS where she has worked for the past 20 years. We live in rural south central Kansas where we operate a small alpaca ranch and a B&B. Janis and I are active in our local community and church. I serve as a District Captain for the Convention of States Project and the elected position of Township Trustee. I am also the author of the novel Spare Time.

I view myself as a Classical Liberal, a Jeffersonian. I firmly believe all our nation’s ills stem from our departure from the Christian values and the Constitution as designed by our founders. History has been ignored and changed, the free press is a thing of the past in the main stream. I am largely an opinion and commentary writer, however our goal here is to tell the truth. Truth has no agenda. My focus is to try and tie history and current events together in an interesting way so that reading is both educational and entertaining. My personal goal is to improve the nation through education and shine light on things government and others with evil intent would like to keep in the dark. When asked what sort of government had been decided upon, Benjamin Franklin replied, “A Republic, if you can keep it”. “Keep” is a verb, and a verb indicates action. We are not intended to be mere voters, we must be active in our communities and states. We have the power, we need to learn to act as if we do. In a world of chaos, I intend to be a voice of reason.
